I think one reason many of us expats are living in costa rica is because we were well aware that the US was out of control and would soon break. Current events over the past two weeks are proof that we were correct. This sudden loss of real personal wealth via the stock market is just the tip of the iceberg. Unless God or some alien steps in to save us, the USA as we knew it, is done.

No more easy money. No more free lunch. It's going to take 100 years of abject slavery to pay back the bankers all that was lost.
